Made for Kyoto-based incense maker Kousaido, these ceramic holders are Kutani-ware porcelain.
A colourful tradition, the home of Kutani-ware is Ishikawa in north central Japan. These incense holders are in the shape of a classic origami crane (orizuru).
Close inspection reveals floral patterns on each wing.
